Whip It!

Tuesday October 15, 2013 I trashed Emma's neck.  We were trying to get out of crazy traffic due to an accident further north and rush hour when I looked down at my GPS and then looked up to see the vehicle in front of me slam on their brakes.  Subsequently I slammed on mine and avoided a collision, however, I didn't avoid my daughters neck getting whipped around.  Almost immediately she started to complain about neck pain.  The ER doctor didn't seem to think that it was that serious but had us make a follow up appointment with Emma's Pediatric Dr. for that Friday.  He said she should be feeling better in two days and should only have to wear the brace for the same.  By Friday she wasn't better, she was still in pain.  Our ped. Dr. said she felt like it was way worse than the ER Dr. made it out to be but it was still not life threatening.  She gave us some tips and told us to take it really easy.  I let Emma go without her brace last night when she was dressed up in her Halloween costume for the Activity Day/Young Women party but by the end she was hurting.  Today, one week and one day later, Emma is finally feeling relief.  Both Dr.s classified her incident as minor whiplash but I wish we had seen our ped Dr. first and last!!!

In the ER! She was really sore.

Friday after her apt. Still sore but in better spirits!
