Happy Birthday Brent!

Brent's birthday was yesterday and we had so much fun. I took Emma out of school early and then we went to surprise Brent at his work. Then we stole him away from his work and drove out to Point Loma to the Cabrillo National Monument. We went down to the tide pools first to see if we could find any cool little creatures. It was great! We saw a ton of snails and a bunch of mussels and even a couple of anemones. Then we got to a little spot where there were a bunch of tiny little hermit crabs crawling all around in this little pool of water.
They looked like moving rocks. We then traveled back up the hill to the light house and played around there. On the way up the trail though I swear I saw a gray whale. It's whaling season where they travel south to warmer waters and as we were walking up the trail out of the side of my eye I saw something splash down in the water and then when I looked for real there was a "fingerprint" on the water. That's a dark spot that happens after the whale goes back under. Okay truthfully it could have been me wanting to see a whale but I think I really saw one. The light house is really cool. The stairs in it are really steep and kinda crazy to go up and down. It makes me a little sick to my tummy to look at these pics. After that we went around the monument itself and Emma got disappointed because she had been learning about the statue of Liberty and thought that she was going to be able to go up into the statue of Juan Cabrillo! I thought that was kinda cute of her to think that but then she got mad at me for thinking that! Oh well! It was pretty windy while we were there and we saw two different birds just hanging in the air. I thought that they might be hunting. It was cool though to see them just hang there. Alas the Monument came to a close and we went off to hunt dinner of our own. We ended up at the Outback were I am pretty sure Brent and I both got sick from. Oh well, it was good going down but not so good coming back out!!!! All in all it was a great day and a beautiful day to be playing near the ocean side and at such a beautiful place. I highly recommend anyone coming from out of town or anyone in town to come and check it out. The last pic is where Brent and I decided we wanted to settle down and live. We thought it probably was the most perfect place ever!
