The Ward Goes to the Beach

September 18th was our ward beach party. It, like all my other pictures from the beach this summer, was over cast with no chance of sun. At least it started out that way. In the end there was a little sun rays coming through the clouds to end up with a pretty unique sunset. I felt really bad about the mix up in beaches but it seemed that quite a few people were still able to make it despite the change in venue. It was a fun evening had by all (I hope!) complete with the presence of a jellyfish! It was dead on the beach but the kids got a kick out of playing with it. We kept telling them not to touch it just because none of us were sure if it would sting or not. I thought it was pretty cool seeing it up close and out of the water. Eventually the kids put it in a pail of water and scooped it up with their shovels! Gross! Emma loved it! Of course! As the sun went down people started to leave. We got home and cleaned up, put Emma to bed and then sat down to watch a little TV. All the sudden Emma was up ex-sponging all her stomach content. I don't understand why that girl gets so sick from being at the beach. She had water and everything. Ever since we first moved here she randomly has gotten sick from being at the beach. We think it's mostly just dehydration which totally makes sense but this time it there was no heat and no sun, she had been drinking water and had eaten fairly well. Parenting can be so frustrating at times! The party was fun through and I can't wait until we can do it again, hopefully for longer this next time.
