12-17-11

So 12-17 started out with the intention of me finishing Emma's Christmas present.  Brent and I tied this quilt for her (right in front of her) during Thanksgiving and I had yet to finish the corners and sides.  I usually just machine it because I have zero patience for hand stitching even though it looks nicer.  I had seen somewhere that there was a winter carnival down in Poway and I thought it would be a great time for Brent and Emma to have a daddy daughter date and me to have the house to myself before Christmas break came and had Emma around all the time.  I finished it in record time and promptly wrapped myself up in it and took a nap!  It's a beautiful quilt if I do say so myself!!!

This was the winter carnival and according to Emma it stunk!  I was lucky that Brent and Emma originally couldn't find a parking space and then there was barely anything to do so Brent took Emma out to eat!  He's such a good time waster/distraction/daddy date!  Really the point of this post was to show the quilt but I thought it was cute with the picture of the snow since we totally don't get any of it in SD and I'm sure that was trucked in!
