Sometimes birthday presents for spouses can be so easy and then other times it is not so easy. This year it was hard. Then I came across a package for whale watching that I "thought" might be fun to take Brent on for his birthday this past February. (BTW props to my military hook up! Thanks my friend, you know who you are and you are awesome!) Well it was fun in a cold, sea sick, boat rocking, nose running, freeze your fingers off sort of way! It's also not one of those as seen on TV kind of things because I'll tell you what, whale watching on the Discovery Channel is WAY more amazing than this was. Now don't get me wrong, this was pretty neat. We did freeze our fingers and our noses did run, we did get a touch sea sick and well the boat was certainly rocking but there is nothing and I repeat nothing like being out in the sea! We got off to a rocky start with the water being to choppy and the company canceling our tour first thing in the morning so we played tourist in Sea Port Village, had lunch in a cozy little restaurant on the water and then came back for the afternoon tour which was soooo cool because we came in at sunset and sunset on the water is amazing. (which you'll see when you scroll down!)

| Emma looking like she was going to mug someone but that's how cold we were (with her turtle neck on backward) |
| This is what I was talking about before. Discovery Channel for really seeing whales up close and personal is where it's at. This was just the giants coming up for air. Now at one point we saw 7 plumes of mist at once and I got that on video but of course that won't load so you get three! |

| This was an AMAZING scene before us. I can't begin to describe how very close one can feel when they are among nature such as this! Incredible! |
| This is when we found out that it's better to freeze upstairs than get sick down stairs. I didn't get sick if I was our in the open air! Cute pic! |
| Another cool shot from WAY far away. That was with the zoom as far out as it would go! |
| We are all looking a little haggard here but it's such a cute pic! |
| This was on the way back. Emma was bored and we were trying to entertain her. I thought it was such a great pic of Brents rare smile! |
| SUNSET! AMAZING! |
| Just goofin! |
| In the end we couldn't miss stopping by one of our local favorites especially since their second location is just down the street from where we were boarding. Hodad's is one of the best burger joints around. True it's a little creepy at night because it's downtown where all the "creeps" live but it's still a great place to eat! Happy Birthday Brent. Next time....no trips out to sea! |
