During our Christmas break, Emma and I received a very special invitation to tea. Our dear friend Kathy Bils invited us to tea at her house. She has just had her house remodeled and so we were very excited to go and be with her. When we got on the road I started to get just a little nervous because the directions that I had looked at online and the directions my GPS were giving me were totally different. She lives in an area of town that I have never spent too much time in. Finally we arrived and were joyous to be there in her home. I can't describe the warmth that exists there. She showed us the house and then we sat down to tea. I tried a new Herbal tea that I had never had and was surprised at it's aroma and taste. Emma had Sparkling Cider! There were cookies and fudge and short breads and spiced breads. Everything was so sweet and wonderful. When we finished she showed us her back yard and then proceeded to pick us lemons and blood oranges right from the tree's she grows back there. We talked and talked and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I looked up at one point and thought that the fog was really rolling in pretty thick and thought that maybe we should get going. I hate driving in fog. By the time we left, with multitudes of goodies in hand, the fog was so thick that you really seriously couldn't see more than 100 feet in front of you. The drive from there to the grocery store was pretty scary but we made it. Emma got pretty quiet in the back seat as soon as we pulled away from Kathy's house and I wondered if she was just checking things out or what and when I looked back, she was fast asleep. That was a great sign that we had had a marvelous time. Thank you Kathy for the wonderful afternoon tea. It was so wonderful to spend time in your home. I just can't believe I forgot my camera.
