Disneyland - The end

We started this day out by going to get more moleskin and better sole supports for me. We got back to our lovely hotel and signed out. It's always a little sad to check out of a super nice hotel where the wonderful maids clean your bathroom and make your bed for you. Plus our view from the hotel was wonderful. We were on the 8th floor and it was just breath taking in the mornings as the sun came up over the mountains. Emma loved the "baggage roller coaster" saying it was the first ride of the day! When we got to the park it was still closed and I ended up talking to this lady that was from Vegas and had taught at Eldorado High School for years. We talked about a ton of things and she even knew Norm Noorda who I worked for for six years. We had a great little talk and then went about our way once the park opened. It kinda made me nostalgic for "home". We saw Goofy first off and then headed for the princesses. Disney has taken the princess experience to a whole new level. If you haven't experienced this with a little girl, you are missing out. They make you wait in a line that is anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours long. Meanwhile you listen to parents talk about getting to see princesses and little girls getting so excited they can hardly contain themselves. When you finally do get around the corner to see three different princesses, these before mentioned little girls squeal with delight while you yourself are transported back in time and wish you could once again be little so that you could sit with Belle and have a very intimate and private discussion with just the two of you. The excitement is very contagious. Of course then after you exit your private moment with the princesses you get to go princess shopping. What a racket! What an experience! After that we payed in Toon Town which is an experience in and of itself but it was fun. We decided to grab some lunch and Brent still had corn dogs on the brain. By this time I did too. We went back to the original cart we had seen at the front of the park and much to our surprise they wanted $7 for a single corn dog. WELL! we didn't eat there. We ended up going into Tomorrow Land and grabbing some burgers. While we were in line I noticed that Jedi Training was starting and so I ditched Brent in line (not a good idea when you have forgotten to charge your cell phone and it is just about to die and you can't hear anything anyway because it is so overcrowded with people waiting to see the show) and took Emma to go through Jedi Training. I thought she would totally be into it but right as they were asking the kids to stand up she chickened out. We found seats pretty close and were able to kinda watch the show. It was great. Next time you go to Disneyland take your kid to go see Jedi Training. They actually get a light saber (toy) and get to fight with Darth Vader. During the show this one kid ran up and starting hacking on one of the Storm Troopers. Very funny. Next time we are definitely training to become Jedi's. Emma was a little disappointed that she hadn't stayed. After that we took the Monorail. Something I haven't done forever. We got to sit in the cabin with the conductor. It was pretty cool getting front row seats. We shopped around a little and decided to head back to California Adventures where we saw the Crush show. That is totally worth the wait. It's pretty cool. After that we were pooped. We tromped to one more ride and took off. In the end there "of course" had to be a call to Aunt Nini. I think Emma had a kinda hard time being there without her best friend Nini because the two times she had been there before had been with her Nini. (She's no longer my sister but Emma's Nini). I was glad to be home but not so glad to be home without the maid to clean my toilet and make my bed! Thanks again Nth Generation. We'll make sure to go back a bunch in the upcoming year.

I could never bring myself to wait in the princess line. But oh...so magical. I love D-land. I go into a deep depression when it is time to leave. I always go pee in the restroom at City hall on the way out of the park as my one last desperate attempt to not have to go home.
