Emma's first trip to the theatre

Emma and I (and the whole second grade) had the opportunity to see Beauty and the Beast at the Poway Center for the Performing Arts. I thought it was outstanding. Emma thought it was outstanding. When I asked her what her favorite part was she said, "The WHOLE thing." All the kids were told that it would not be like the Disney movie because this wasn't a Disney production. I have never seen a different Beauty and the Beast other than the Disney version so I was very excited to see how it compared. Emma's teacher has her daughter in the production company that permformed in the show and the whole class was so excited to see her daughter. (she goes to school at the same school her mom teaches at) (I think this is the link to the production company) They kept asking where she was. We, the parents, kept having to shush all the kids but we did see her and it was really exciting to know a familiar face on the stage. The kids were asked to dress nice and Emma wanted to wear a dress. It's kind of a big deal for Emma to wear a dress to school. I know she would like to wear dresses more often to school but at the moment she only has two and their for church so oh well. It was a great day though and she and I had so much fun going with Emma to her first theater performance. Hopefully between Anita's and my love of the theatre and my persistance to get Brent to take us, this won't be the last! Thanks to Emma's teacher and whoever was able to get us tickets at such a low price so the whole second grade could learn some culture and have a great time. Also thanks to whoever bowed out at the last minute so I could go!
