Nightmares

We all at one point or another we all have nightmares right? I think sometimes they are induced by the elements around us such as our stress levels or situations. Sometimes they are brought on by the things we eat or how we sleep. However they are brought about I hate it. Emma and I are getting ready to leave for a wedding for almost two weeks, one of which will be away from my husband until he flies in and meets us. I never like leaving him behind even though I've done it in the past but this time it seems so much harder. I don't know what it is about this time. This is why I think I had a nightmare last night. Before I start that though I might as well put this out there that my greatest fear is loosing my husband. With that said now one may be able to understand my I write about this.

In my dream I was looking at an antique bike rack on the back of a guys pick up truck. They guy was our neighbor. (In real life this is not real) I couldn't understand why he would put a bike rack on a truck with a bed but whatever. I didn't see him come up beside me until he started yelling at me about being a nosy (insert bad word...yes I dream with bad words) and to back away from his truck. He was carrying a bundle in his hands and it was wrapped with my 600 thread count sheets! I started to question why he had our sheets when he said to mind my own (insert bad word here) business and then proceeded to throw the bundle down in the bed of his truck. It landed with a huge thud and I sat there awestruck at what I was hearing and seeing.

Now mind you we don't have a neighbor like this and there is no truck in the complex like this and those sheets are the ones Emma cut with scissors years ago and that now I use on our blow up bed when guests come over because they are still nice sheets with just a few holes in the top sheet but I still wouldn't want Brent to give them to some "neighbor"....this is not the nightmare part!

So the guy gets in his truck and starts to drive away but I wasn't about to let him have my sheets so as he pulls out of his spot I reach into his bed and grab my sheet and figure it will unwrap whatever he had bundled but at least I would have my sheet back right?! The further away he gets the longer the sheet gets which of course is crazy to see this 50 foot sheet. As he starts to round the corner, all the sudden I hear this huge boom and his car lifts off the ground and explodes into flames! Yes I'm still holding the stupid sheet. Then I hear another couple of booms behind me and I turn to see where they are coming from. Sure enough they are coming from this neighbors apartment that happens to be right next to my apartment where I know my husband is however at this point I can't tell if it's our apartment that's now engulfed in flames or if it's just his. Either way I start screaming Brent's name.

You know in the movies when the stupid girl just stands there and screams for her lover and you as the watcher are screaming for the stupid girl to get off her duff and go save her man because any true woman worth a grain wouldn't just stand there and scream but actually do something, ya I was the stupid woman!

Eventually after I stop screaming I start running to my apartment. I get up there and realize that my place in in fact not even licked by the flames and that everything in there is in perfect order and there's a little bit of smoke and heat but everything else is totally fine. Brent in fact is sitting on the living room floor working on his bike (which I would kill him for)! You notice that Emma is no where in this dream. I think that's because I knew subconsciously that she is going out of town with me and is safe but since we are leaving Brent he, subconsciously, isn't safe. As the police arrive they want to see the sheet that I apparently still hold in my hand and when I look at it I realize that it's blood. They tell me that there were bombs that went off and the guy had timers on them so when he was far enough away they would go off. They also tell me, because in this dream every detective guy has all the answers right away without having any time elapsed, that this guy committed a suicide murder and was behind on his rent?! WHAT?!

Ok we are not behind on our rent, just to let that be said. There are some themes here though that I pulled out. One, I am worried about leaving Brent here all alone especially because I will have the car and he only will have his bicycle which he rides all the time but nonetheless it still worries me. The second one is that even though I worry, something may happen but he will be just fine (and he better not work on his bike in my front room). In short (not like this post has been short) I think I'm just worried about leaving him alone for a week! Get over myself right? I was pretty torn up about this dream when I first got up but now after writing it out I'm feeling better. Especially when I think about the part where he was safe in our home and the explosion hadn't gotten to him.

Oh ya I looked up in the dream dictionary to see if I could make sense of what this whole thing meant. You have to look up specific words so these were some of the ones I looked up. It's worth a laugh or two!

Loud Noise
To hear a loud noise in your dream, signifies the unexpected and the unknown. You may be expressing some fear or confusion about a situation in your waking life. The noise in your dream may serve as a way to attract your attention to that issue. Alternatively, a noise represents a breakthrough into your personal struggles. Perhaps you need to be more vocal and be heard. Or perhaps you need to break through a barrier that has been holding you back.

Explosion
To see explosions in your dream, symbolize your repressed anger. The rage that you have been holding in has come to the surface in a forceful and violent manner. Your unconscious is trying to get your attention.

Sheets
To notice or buy sheets in your dream, represents your open sexuality and outward beauty. The design and look of the sheets may be a clue into what you are looking for sexually.

Husband
To see your husband in your dream, signifies the waking relationship with your husband and the unconscious feelings you have towards him. The dream may be trying to focus on hidden elements that you are not addressing in your waking life.

Blood
To see blood in your dream, represents life, love, and passion as well as disappointments.

Neighbor
To dream of having a good neighbor, signifies enjoyment and tranquility at home. If you dream of an angry or unfriendly neighbor, then it signifies dissension and disappointment. There is a waking issue that you need to address with your neighbor. Alternatively, the dream could mean relocation from your home. Perhaps you are in need of a change of scenery.
