It's not that this ward picnic was anything but out of the ordinary as ward picnics go but I wanted to blog about it because of these pictures. Our ward picnic was back in May on the 14th and it was a lovely day. There was terrific food and great conversation but it was the youth that impressed me. As you can see in these

pictures the Young Women let Emma play volleyball with them. Emma was 8 then and these girls are much older than 8 but it didn't really matter to them. They peppered back and forth and when Emma dropped the ball there was no giving her a hard time about it. Matter a fact there was only encouragement. You can see Emma's smile in these pictures and it's not the fake one I get when I'm trying to take pictures! This makes my

heart soar! Our youth, both girl and boy have totally impressed me. They are kind and loving toward each other but to others as well. There has been more than once I have talked with a few of the girls about nothing really but they never treated me as an outsider. No instead they had open arms. It's such a good reflection back on their parents and on their youth leaders. I pray Emma will have as good of youth leaders as these youth today have! Way to go ladies! I'm so proud to rub shoulders with you!
