Science at it's funnest
For Emma's birthday this last year, my sister in law sent Emma a really nice microscope that once belonged to her daughter. We have used it a couple of times and I think that Emma has enjoyed it.
The day that Brent found out he was getting his new job, he knew that I had been home worried and so he brought me flowers. How sweet that he brought them for me when I should have been giving them to him but that's just who he is.
Anyway as I was putting the flowers into a vase a dead bee fell out of the flowers. First it scared the *&%$ out of me and then I thought it would be cool to get a closer look. Well we had a blast looking at it through all of our scientific ways. Emma has another smaller hand held microscope that again Alisa sent to her that she loves and so we would look at it through that and then look at the bee through the bigger one. Brent would pull off certain body parts and put them under the lense for us to look at.
What a great night. The red picture is of a rose petal that I gave to Emma
and the other one is obviously a leg of a bee. I was pretty impressed that I could get a picture at all. I think we are most definitely going to have to get some more specimens to look at because that was sooo cool to see.
Especially the hairy bee leg!

i want one! so cool!
Isn't science so fun. I don't think I remembered that until I had kids and now discovering things is just as fascinating as it was when I was a kid. Great pics!
