Carving Pumpkins
This
evening started out with Emma getting a post card from her Aunt Nini. I couldn't help but take a picture of this. The two girls in the same chair and both of them so interested in what they were looking at was for sure a Kodak moment. It was pretty fun that Emma got to share her moment from Aunt Nini with her friend Fiorella. Emma and Aunt Nini have such a special bond and sometimes I'll admit I get a little jealous but this time I was glad Emma had someone other than her parents to share it with. Fiorella told us that she had never carved a pumpkin before and so we invited her over to help us with ours. I think they had a really great time. I wondered with her never having done it before if she would be squeamish but she was a trouper and pulled all the stringies and seeds out of the inside. They even decided together how they would carve it or rather how I would carve it since
I hadn't bought a carving kit and had to do it with a knife. Afterward Brent cleaned and cooked the pumpkin seeds. I was totally bummed out this year because I'm way allergic to those darn seeds and even just one makes my throat swell up even though I love them so much
so I gave my share to Fiorella and she said, "Oh those were soooo good! I loved them!" She cracks me up. Every time we have her for dinner she says the same thing and then says she has to have her mom try to cook it. It makes me feel like the best cook in the world. I forgot to take a picture of Brent's pumpkin but then remembered before he threw it away. That's for another post though. I think the girls had a great time. I can't believe how well they play together. It makes me want to live in this tiny apartment forever
just so we can be neighbors and the girls will always be friends. Who know's what the future will bring on that subject but for now we live here and for now they can be forever friends!
