Halloween in Las Vegas

This picture got left out of the slide show for some reason so I'm starting my blog with it here. Emma is a bed hog. Poor Anita is so generous to let the grand kids sleep with her but I think she really gets the raw end of the deal with Emma. The girl spreads out on the bed like she owns it. I'm pretty sure Anita slept on the couch this night. Anyway...being at Mom and Dad's is always so much fun. It's fun to be the visitor and feel like everyone is excited to have you there. We really went to LV for Gavin's baby blessing but since Halloween was that weekend too, Mom threw a Halloween party for us. I have to give a shout out because it really was one of the best parties I've been to in a while. What made it good? Family! I spent the whole day with my sister and brother and his family and my parents and my family of course. We carved pumpkins and Dad made his famous chili. I don't really think it's famous by anyone but our family but when I found out he was making it I was so excited because it is a childhood favorite and really feels like home to me. Mom made spiced cider with Red Hots that I found out was good cold too and Anita made Chocolate Pumpkin cookies. In my opinion the cookies were so stinkin good. Everything was so good. The only downfall to the whole weekend foodwise, was the excess of beans. Mom and I made this bean salsa that is so killer but between the chili and the salsa, well lets just say my clock got cleaned. It turned out that Craig was Anakin Skywalker and Emma was his daughter Leia! So funny. I made the kids wear glow sticks and at first Craig wasn't really all that in to it but when Aunt Nini started putting them on he decided he needed about 50 on his candy bucket! Anita was the ultimate glow stick diva though with all hers. She even put them through her earrings. Loved IT! The night ended with us playing games with a few of Marilene's family until late into the night. The next day was the blessing and I'm making that a seperate post. Vegas was so much fun and I can't wait for our next trip. Enjoy the slideshow and the little video after. The video after is Emma telling a joke. It's one she learned at school. Hope you like it.
