Fire biscuits are fun! Emma's turned out really good but mine was a little underdone. Isn't that the case. Mom gets the shaft for the kids sake! Oh well!

7th Annual Mormon Battalion Celebration
A few weekends ago we went to old town to take part in the 7th annual Mormon Battalion Celebration. We've been before but this time the visitor center for the Mormon Battalion was just recently renovated and was reopened just in time for this celebration. It was crazy busy and we didn't get to go through the tour because they had these time passes to go through but by the time we got there the time was for around 6p.m. We didn't really feel like waiting around that long so we just walked around. After we played at the visitor center we went down into the park and went through all the little booths there. We had a great time and saw a few friends as well. These are pictures from our day! Enjoy!
Emma panning for gold!
Brent and Emma in front of this great cannon.
Outside the visitor center. It is so nice. Next time you are in SD please come and go through this center. It's so neat.
Emma making clay bricks like they did in the old days.
Last time we did the celebration Emma couldn't get the whirlygig at all. By the time we left she had it down. This lady was really cool too. She showed us the Jacob's ladder. I didn't know there were all sorts of different tricks to it. She knew them all. She told us there were directions online for making your own Jacobs ladder. We just might make one of our own.
This lady was really cool too. She sat with Emma and taught her how to put the needle through the material without having to go in and out on both sides. Emma was really in this. We sat there forever waiting for Emma to finish. I gotta say she did it pretty well. I was a little surprised that she stayed with it. It got me thinking that maybe I should set up some of these for her to do when she is bored.
I love this picture. Emma's wispy hair is everywhere and she is so determined. The whirlygig is around her neck and she is concentrating so hard. So sweet!
This was Emma second doll from the celebration. The one she made from before went by the way side because she really didn't care about it that much. This one on the other hand was a little different. She has slept with this one a few times and even drew a bunch of hair on it.

I'm so glad we are not still doing laundry this way. Thank the good man for technology!
This is another technology thank you! Covered wagons just are not that comfortable. I may have a car that I'm really not terribly fond of but at least it's not a covered wagon!!!
