I can't believe I have an 8 year old!!!

Emma turned 8 on June 2nd! Almost one month later, I'm still in shock! It was such a busy and crazy day. There was cupcakes for school and a little friend get together at the park after school. Then we took Emma to, her choice, Applebee's (where they left the salad dressing off my Oriental Chicken Salad which I'm still mitchin and bone'n about and they didn't even sing happy birthday to her which made me mad) Here are a bunch of pictures from her big day!

These are the cupcakes I made for Emma's class. I saw Guy Fieri from the food network make these cupcakes once where he pulled the center out and filled it with a surprise. I had been waiting until Emma's birthday to try it out and it was a huge hit in the class room. You just cut a little out of the top, fill, and then ice over everything to hide it! Brilliant! Thanks Guy!

This was in Emma's class. I hope her teacher doesn't mind being a part of our blog. Emma told me once that she was so frustrated that her birthday was not until June because she had to wait through everyone else's birthday before she got to be in the front for her birthday! I wonder how long the whole birthday class room thing lasts. Do they still make a big deal out of it in 5th grade?

I love this picture for two reasons. 1st Emma's friend Sabrina (in the back) has this seriously great face! It's the, "Uew Uew Uew What'd she get" face that every kid has gets when they see their friends opening presents. 2nd is Emma's face. It's just such a great smile that I can never seem to get when I tell her to smile for a picture! Plus I thought her hair was really cute in this picture!

You really can't tell that these are really cool rocks by looking at this picture but that's what they are. Emma is really really really into rocks! This present was a big hit! Matter a fact Brent and I did a really really super job with all her presents this year. There wasn't one that she didn't really love, which of course makes me feel like the greatest parents in the world!

This was opening her music box. At Christmas she asked Santa to bring her one but Santa couldn't get one made for her in time. Brent and I found this one a few weeks later at Disneyland and had been holding it for six months. I'm so glad I didn't forget that I had it because it ended up being her favorite present!

Emma's new scriptures! Big time hit. She had no clue we'd ordered them online and asked me about a week before her birthday if she was going to get scriptures. Like a good mother I told her I just wasn't sure if we were going to be able to get them this time!!!

These last are video's from her big day. I just thought they were cute and wanted to add them!
