Invasion Day 2 part 2-Dinner with the fam
Rogers family didn't go to the beach with us earlier in the day. They had tickets to Sea World because part of their trip to Emma's baptism was mixed in with their family summer vacation. So after our swimming and after their amusement parking we met up back at my house for dinner. Marilene knew about this great recipe (click here) that used a crock pot and could be left all day so I put that on in the morning and dinner was a hit when everybody got back! This really wasn't the start of the mayhem but on film it is. After looking back I have to say a few things about me with crazy messy times. I don't think I would have been such a basket case if I wasn't organizing (in my head every second of the day) everything for the following day. When I'm at mom's and there is something going on, I'm not so crazy about messes or mayhem but I think because I was already stressed (ocd), I wasn't handling everything else well. My stomach was already in knots and I wasn't eating well or sleeping well. Sorry family if I wasn't myself. I was really a stack of nerves pretending to be myself. Most of the pictures are self explanation here but I have a few comments on a couple of them. Sorry there are a ton but these were hard to pass up!
I should have opened the door a little wider and shown everyone Emma's crazy room. The kids loved it though and I'm so happy that they enjoyed playing in there. Beautiful Faith!!! I think she had the best time in Emma's room!
This picture cracks me up. Gavin, like every other toddler, kept going straight for the videos. Cars all around him, fun stuff everywhere and all he wants is stuff he shouldn't be getting into! I got a little nostalgic watching Gavin. Not quite to the point where I was baby hungry but wishing time hadn't gone so fast when Emma was little.
A group (I can't remember all who went) went to the grocery store because I didn't have enough junk food in the house. Something funny happened but I didn't really catch what it was. As I said before I was off in some other la la land. This was the part of the story being told. Around that same time Jessica told me that so many pictures have her eating in them. I didn't notice the Oreo cookie until after they had gone on the computer! Funny!
I wish I could say that Nini was loved by Emma the most but I'm not totally sure that is correct. Emma does love Nini to the supreme but I know of other little ones who love her just as much. I'm just glad she has enough love to share between all the grand kids!
Emma told me that she and Uncle Roger had been talking Star Wars and that he was so fun to talk to about that. Rogers so great with kids. I wish they or we lived closer together to see them more often. Alas such is life.
You know how one picture says so many things? This is one of those. There sits Taylor in the cat bed hording all the rubber duckies, doing her own thing, completely content as long as no one else has any ducks! Toys strew carelessly everywhere but does she play with the cars, the balloons, (although she did love to put the balloons in her mouth and bite on them until they popped!) or the tea set? No she clutches the ducks to her chest as if to say, "You touch my ducks and you die!" Don't let the sweet innocent face fool you. Gavin tried a time or two to steal a duck while she was not looking and oh boy did Gavin learn quick! A girl and her ducks are NOT soon departed!
This was pretty much how every night ended. Submission into sleep! Earlier I said that Emma might not love Nini as much as some of the other grand kids, well this is one of those grand kids. Craig loves his Nin! (Who doesn't really?) I hated pulling them apart but I knew they would both sleep better in their own beds! So sweet!
