San Diego Century Ride

On May 19, 2012 Brent and Emma went on their very first charity ride with our new tandem bicycle.  I guess it's not really "new" per-say but it still feels new to us.  They did great! Here's their pictures!

While they were riding I drove over to the coast and played in the waves for a little while.  I found this beautiful spot in Cardiff by the Sea.  So awesome!

Then I decided I better try to catch up to them so I back tracked for awhile until I saw a rider with the same tags.  She said she had seen the tandem and they were a little behind her.  When I saw Brent and Emma coming up this hill Brent was puffing away trying to get up this hill and Emma was all smiles like it was no biggie!  "Hi Mom!"  was what I heard from her and a grunt is what I got from Brent!  I guess we know who was working that hill!

The next several were the chase.  By the time they made it to the coast they really didn't have that much further to go and were in the easiest part of their ride.  It was fun seeing them work together and talk with each other out there!

This was the big finish.  I decided I better high tail it back to get there before they did so that I could get them coming through the finish.  I love love love this photo!

After all was said and done they did their route in less time than their practice runs.  We stopped and ate lunch at one of the many food trucks they had there.  I was so proud of my little family!

After we left I wanted to show them the pretty area I had seen so we drove up to Cardiff and played around the tide pools for a bit.
