Emma's Barbie's

Before I tell you this really cute story about Emma and her Barbie's I have to tell you about my wonderful husband. I am so proud of Brent. I know this is probably not the best picture of him but I think he is looking great. He has lost 52 lbs and is still going. Those are new cycling clothes that are a little tight but they are not so tight that he can't get into them and six months ago they would have been to tight. He has been riding Saturday mornings with a cycling team and the team has just signed up to do a 75 mile ride called the Tour de Cure in April to benefit diabetes. Again I am so proud of him and all his hard work! Keep up the great work Brent, I love you so much.

So for Christmas my sweet mother in law sent Emma these beautiful homemade crocheted Barbie clothes. She has loved them and plays with them often. The other day she comes running out of her room and says, "Mommy look. This Barbie looks just like the pretty lady in Primary that plays with my hair." It took me a second to figure out what she was talking about. Partly because our Primary Presidency was just barely reorganized. She had this dark hair Barbie in one of the out fits from Christmas. I asked her who she was talking about and she said that she couldn't remember what her name was but that it was the other one and not Angela. (Angela is our neighbor who Emma also loves so much and who used to be in Primary) I smiled and asked her if it was Sis. Bingham ( who was also just released) and then she sad that yes that's who she meant. I looked at the Barbie and sure enough it does resemble Danie Bingham in a way. I don't know what it is about her face and maybe it is the clothes too because I have never seen it before but those of you in my ward can judge for yourselves. I thought it was a pretty incredible compliment to say that you look like a Barbie but as I thought more about it I have seen more than just a compliment. I didn't know that Emma admired Danie but I am so pleased to have come to realize that there are the most incredible women such as Danie Bingham in my daughters life who will be there to teach her and love her outside of what I can do at home. I am always amazed at my daughter. It is no wonder the Lord told us to become as little children. So now I just thought that I would throw this out to all the women and men in my daughters life. Thank you for being there. Thank you for your loving support. One final thought that just came to mind...it takes a village to raise a child....Thanks for being part of our village and Danie thanks for agreeing to be part of this post! Oh and thanks to Danie's husband for helping the Chargers get to the Super Bowl!

Aw, Cyndi. You aren't suppose to make me tear up right before the big game tomorrow! That was the sweetest comment i've ever received. I really want to thank you, so much! I LOVE your blog too, your honesty and sincerety touches more lives than you know. And the picture of the temple at the top really gives the page a special feeling. I love you more than you know. :)
...about Emma's barbies...how CUTE!! I would like to compliment the maker of those clothes! I love how modest and beautiful they are! More barbies need to dress like THAT. :)

Brent looks great! Both of you are doing awesome and are our encouragement and inspiration!!!

Emma is adorable...I'm so glad she is going to marry Geoffrey ;) He couldn't do any better!

It is wonderful to have such examples in our lives to help us raise our children. What a wonderful blessing to know we aren't allow through our life here...spiritually or temporally!

That is so great for Brent! (and you too) we will be there (or at least have him on our thoughts) to cheer him on!
Yeah the barbie does look like Danni. Big bright smile, and full long dark hair, but its not just her face, I think its her poise. (sp?) the way you have her head slightly tilted. Very beautiful!
and thanks for the kind words.
