Aunt Nini's coming Aunt Nini's coming!

(Sorry this is long)
Anita came in late Friday morning of the 13th of March. Emma woke up three times that night to ask if she was here. We really didn't do too much that day because I had to be at Emma's school and then that night she had Karate but after Karate we took Anita to our Favorite Mexican place, Harvest Taco.

This is Emma's belated Christmas Present from her Aunt Nini. In case you didn't know it's a pillow with a picture pillow case. SHE LOVES IT by the way and sleeps on it every night.

Anita brought her Wii! Emma loved almost every minute of it. This is her playing a balancing game on the Wii Fit. I gotta say that I got pretty addicted to it as well and really want one now. Thanks Anita for bringing it. So much fun.

Saturday morning we took Anita to see Mt. Soledad in La Jolla. It was pretty cool. It's another war memorial but I really liked it. I think I liked the view more than anything else. It was so foggy but still so incredible. It's pretty much a 360' view.

Anita found this really cool plaque. We also found Bob Hope (of course). Emma went around trying to find all the women soldiers. There were a few married couples that were killed in the same war that had a double plaque. It makes you think about where your patriotism lies.

In this picture you can see how foggy it was. I wish that Emma had been looking up and smiling. Sometimes she is so funny about smiling. I think she gets tired of me constantly taking pictures. Oh well she better get used to it!

After Mt. Soledad we were driving through La Jolla trying to fiqure out what to do when we drove down past the caves. There is this one cave from my understanding that you have to walk down like 100 steps to get to. I drove past it and tried to find parking but couldn't. Instead we found this smaller cave and had so much fun exploring it. Emma was insitant that she go all the way to the back. I didn't think she could stretch her legs far enough to avoid the puddle of water and I for sure didn't want her getting wet but when we got in this lady was coming out. Emma watched her and then decided that she difinitly could do it. I'm glad we did. It was pretty awesome to see.

This was the view from the back of the cave looking toward the ocean.

When we got far enough back I called back to Anita to come and see. She didn't want to get wet either but we showed her how we did it. I really want to go back and see the other caves with the steps. Maybe for a date one day or something. We'll see.

After we had driven around La Jolla trying in vain and not suceeding to find a parking place to see the seals we decided to bag that idea and get some grub. Anita had heard of this pizza place on the Food Network. We definitely had to try it out. It's called Pizzaria Luigi. You can tell from the pictures alone that it was very good. Not really all that pricey either considering it is New York style. Yum, I'm hungry just thinking about it.

Don't you love Emma's expression in this picture! So cute! That really was probably the best Hawaiian pizza I've ever had.

Anita got totally sick with the flu during the weekend. She didn't get to do very much because of feeling so ill so on Tuesday after we dropped Emma off at school we took off together.
I took Anita to Cabrillo National Monument. We had some time to be together alone, which was great because it's been a long time since the two of us spent any time with just one another without anyone else there. We went to the tide pools and had such a great time.

This is the lobster that we saw. Can you see it? It's right in the middle of the picture. It kinda looks like an underwater bush to me but I swear it's there.

It was St. Patrick's Day when we went and the guy who took this picture said that he would take the picture if he could do what my shirt says! I said sure why not!

Between times of the Monument and this picture was Emma getting her glasses. If you haven't acually been on my blog but looking through google reader or any of those other ones, check out my header page. I also am going to do a separate post about that. This picture was outside of Wahoo's. We had been there to celebrate Emma getting glasses and Anita told Emma she was going to throw her into the fountain. I love this pic. It just show's how fun and playful my sister is.

Wednesday we played hooky from school and work and went to the beach. It was cold and foggy. Did we care? NO! I took a long walk by myself down the shore and on the way back was able to actually watch the fog roll in. It was amazing and really spooky being out there almost all alone and far from our spot on the beach and not being able to see very far in front of you.

I love this pic. I'm not really sure why but that it appeals to my "artistic" eye. Plus you can see the sand in her ear and well everywhere. Oh to be young and not care where the sand goes!

This one too I really like just for the "art" of it. How could she possibly be licking her lips. So gross! All that sand! EWWW.

I love this pic of Anita. She was reading a book and the expression on her face is priceless!

Just a little lovin from the best Aunt in the WORLD!

After the beach we came back and got cleaned up and changed and took Anita to Hodad's. We were freezing! The window's were open and there was so much fog and everything near the beach was just so cold. I think we were really freezing because we were all burnt pretty bad and just not realizing it. Oh well it was so much fun to be at Hodad's again.

Emma's three straws!

There's a cute pic of Emma with her glasses. Man you can really see how foggy it is outside. This is of course still at Hodad's.

Look at Anita's legs. They are so burnt! Poor thing! This was after Hodad's and the last night that Anita was here. The next morning I kept Emma out of school because I thought it would be too emotional. That Thursday I had the Relief Society Birthday Party that I had been planning for months and was stressed about it but more than anything I was really dreading my sister leaving. I had the best time with her being here for a week. As she drove off Emma started to cry. I of course was already in tears. I walked Emma back into the house and we sat in the rocking chair and had a good cry session. I love being in San Diego and living in paradise but I miss my family so much. There are days or even weeks sometimes that I go without talking to any one of them because sometimes life just goes on around you. Moments like this however are so good to teach me how to be on my own but sad at the same time for me. I know that I can't be involved more and I know that Emma is missing out on getting to know her cousins better. I remember going back to Reno after we had moved to Vegas to visit family and always feeling like the outsider because I didn't know those cousins as well. I wish that it didn't have to be that way for my daughter but I know this is where the Lord has placed us and I will follow the spirit every time. Well I already miss family after doing this post. It's only been a few weeks since she was here and I can't wait to see her again. Mom and Dad are coming in May and I am so excited about there visit.
