Not exactly camping!

I totally forgot to blog about this crazy hair brain idea of mine. (By the way I hate this picture of me and maybe that is why I mentally blocked blogging it out!) During Spring Break we were going nowhere. I was a little sad about it but it turned out to be the best. One of the nights I got this idea in my head that instead of going camping for real, because Brent had to work and there was no way in Hates I was taking Emma camping by myself, I would set up our blow up mattress outside in our little patio and Emma and I would have a sleepover/camp out! I don't particularly enjoy sharing a bed with my seven year old but alas I thought it wouldn't be a big deal. I stole the comforter off our bed (don't worry Brent slept fine without it) and Emma slept under that and her sleeping bag. As you can see from the picture, I was nearly done with Harry Potter book 4 (for the third time) and so I stayed awake and read until I finished it. Ya, that might have been my downfall. Everything was so bright and so noisy. I never really hear the freeway from our place but that night, I did! About 1 in the morning I finally went in and got my eye mask so I could sleep and by 4 I was freezing. Remember the part about not liking sharing a bed with my seven year old? At about 4:30 she was snuggled in close to me so I could be warm! I really didn't sleep very well after that and when she woke up at 6:30 I told her that I was headed into my REAL bed to take a nap! Note to self....Next time sleep with sleeping bag under the comforter!

Man, now I want to build a porch off the back so that we can sleep there. But, it has to be big enough I don't have to share a bed with my kids!

What a good Mom you are!
