Welcome May Gray/June Gloom
This post was meant to go up at the beginning of May.
It is now the 21st but alas I still wanted this post up! I love it when May Gray and June Gloom come up. This is a term that we San Diegans know well. During these two months the air becomes warmer but the ocean is still cool. When the warm air hits the cool ocean water it creates a fog. Most days the fog is burned off by the sun somewhere around 10 a.m. and you are left with "paradise". I hear all around me how gloomy it feels or how sad the city looks. I on the other hand LOVE IT! I love this magically mysterious, ambiguous sky. I love the bouquet of the early morning mist and the dewy vapor you slowly inhale like an old familiar memory. For me it's not a clammy nor gloomy start to my day. For me it is a pleasant addition to the constant living of bliss. This change, this metamorphosis of climate and atmosphere is heavenly! By the end of June I will be happy to see the fog leave and the beautiful summer ensue but for now I revel in the joy of May Gray and June Gloom. Oh one more thought...I will most likely not be posting such a loving post about July FRY!!!
