Last weekend we made homemade doughnuts. (Can you picture Homer Simpson right now?) I got the recipe from a good friend named Pat Neel. (This recipe may or may not go up on the food blog - wait and see!) They are such yummy yummy morsels. I was trying to get a picture of everyone smiling but as you can see in just a moment....it didn't happen. I got Brent, then I got Emma. Then I tried again and then I gave up! Oh well! We always have a blast making a mess! Oh ya and I love the way Emma is smearing flour on her cheek in this first picture.
We got a little crazy with the shapes. I decided to make dice. Emma liked the diamond ones (no shocker there!) and Brent, well, he just wanted them cut out. hehe!
Last but not least...the main event! We didn't have any powder sugar so these got drizzled with honey. Mmmm so yummy!
One last thought...Brent did most of the work! He's way more of a baker than I ever want to be.
