My sister Anita came to visit us one weekend a few ago and I've been wanting to put up the post about it but I've had this feeling since then that I really wanted to do a separate post concerning the reason why. As well as an explanation, I wanted this post to be sort of a dedication for a friend that went Home recently. Pudge! Pudge is this super sweet, friendly, happy go lucky pure bred Chocolate Labrador. My sister brought him into our family a few months before I got married and he was an instant friend to one and all. I know, I know, I am doing a post about my sisters dog? Well this silly canine with his deep loving brown eyes melted my heart on impact and I feel really lucky to have had a friend like this. Before we moved to SD he spent many a night with us when my sister was away. He let the grand kids climb all over him and very very rarely ever snapped at anyone. Once when Emma was a little baby I was doing laundry at my parents house. I left Emma on the couch because at the time I didn't think she could roll herself off but just in case I propped open the garage door to make sure I could hear her. While I was only out there for a minute or two something of course happened. Pudge, that wonderfully smart dog, started running back and forth between the front room and to where I was in the garage. He was whining and I thought he just needed to go out. No Emma had fallen off the couch and Pudge was super concerned about my little baby and his good friend! That's the kind of dog he is. Well, Pudge went Home on February 3, 2011 and because it was so hard to say goodbye to him my sister took my Mom's advice and ran away for the weekend to San Diego. Anyway, I wanted to take a second and post of few pictures of my two most favorite times with Pudge, playing in the snow and hiking in Red Rock. In 2001 I decided to ditch work one day. I called up Anita who I knew had Friday off and asked her if she wanted to go up to Mount Charleston and play in the snow for a few hours and of course we would take Pudge. We had the best time ever. The other time is Christmas Eve of 2001 I think. Pudge loved being outdoors and was always willing and happy about going for hikes. We love you buddy and we're gonna miss you. Not your gas, but for sure you!

He looks like such a sweet dog. They really become part of the family don't they? I love that you posted about your memories of him!
Pudge really did have the nastiest farts didn't he? He was a sweety boy. I remember him as a puppy.
