Spring Break!....was two weeks ago. I felt lousy and tired and sick almost the whole time. On Monday and Tuesday when it was beautiful I wanted to go to the beach but felt so yucky I couldn't muster the will to care. Wednesday, rain or shine I was going to the beach. It turned out RAIN but like true locals we were there. Now this post may become long because I had a bit of time to reflect before friends came to play at the beach with us and then of course the thoughts about the friends who came to play will have to be included in this as well. So lets get started.

Having one kid and your self go to the beach alone stinks! It's always better to take someone else along because then your kid will leave you alone!!! We parked it right next to this huge hole that Emma and Fiorella quickly claimed as theirs and immediately starting making home!

Gratefully, Fiorella was there so I could have moments to self reflect, read, listen to the waves and watch the crabs or whatever the little burrowing sand creature is that flicks sand everywhere as they try to get out of the bird zone. Speaking of sand how incredibly beautiful is sand with it's diverse color palette, constantly changing and moving, somewhat fragile and giving, and of course predictable and unpredictable at the same time. Another moment of being deeply grateful for friends who will bare the elements in behalf of friendship!

This picture is of birds! I know I took a picture of the birds but this day it was so so moving. I watched literally hundreds of birds fly in their formation "fly south for the winter"! The team work I guess was what moved me. I watched on two occasions as the lead bird dropped back and another bird took its place. This is how it should be in life, working together to benefit the group rather than self. Each member having equal share of the hard work and equal share of rest but all working toward warmth. This next set of pictures is after friends showed up and I was snapping pictures here and there. Some turned out so cute that I had to post!

I love Camille's sandy hands (top) and total lack of who's around her because she's going to play with the toys no matter what(bottom)!

Sweet smiles! (even if the kids were sorta freezing!)

"Rain? It's raining? Oh! Can we still boogie board?"
