Birth announcement!

Emma's Kindergarten class is proud to announce the arrival of their baby chicks. After a 21 day incubation period the ten chicks were born on June 6th and 7th. Their names are Mr. Peeps, Little Miss Sunshine, Sunny Side Up, Eggbert, Butter Nut, Butter Crème, Butter Cup, Butterfinger, Carmela, and Lemonchello. We are very proud of our chicks and are quite excited to welcome them to our Kindergarten family.

The excitement in the class room was at an all time high when I visited on Wednesday. The chicks had just been introduced to nineteen 5 and 6 year olds. How sweet and tender these little chicks are. I love new life. It is so sweet to think of how the Lord touches everything and creates such unique things like these chicks. Plus it was so fun to see and hold them and feel their downy feathers. Check out the video, it’s priceless.

Death Notice

Little Miss Sunshine died today at the tender age of six days. She was a soft and sweet little chick that was born with 9 other brothers and sisters. She will be missed by her adopted family, the Kindergarten class, who took her into their hearts and loved her. She will especially be missed by her adopted mother, Ms. Kathy Bils (not the same Ms. Kathy over the tap class, just a coincidence) . The class wished her a loving and heart wrenching goodbye this morning as they learned about the cycle of every living thing. After which the kids quickly told each other (without prompting from the teacher) that it would be ok because the chick would get to live in Heaven and do anything it wanted to. Prayers are welcome for those who were touched this day with the knowledge that our Heavenly Father loves all living things.

This was an incredible day. In one box there was new life peeping away with no fears. On the other side, in the hands of myself and Ms. Bils, laid a chick getting ready to return Home. I didn’t realize how emotional I could become over the life of a chicken. Soon after recess was finished our Little Miss Sunshine passed away in the hands of a woman who never ceases to amaze me. Emma’s teacher, Kathy Bils is a deeply religious woman who loves the Lord. We were so blessed to have her as our teacher this year and this experience just proves it.

I didn't think I could get so emotional over a tender post and baby chick!!! What an amazing lesson this tender Kindergartener's gained this week. It's amazing to realize that the Lord touches everything: the birth of these little chics and this learning experience for Emma's class! Ms. Bills and you are amazing!

I love how the chick was pecking on the camera. Reminded me of when my little ones would stick their face up to the lens and you get a huge face shot. So cute!

Glad you got the Morris blogs sorted. :)
