The other day on some random commercial (yes I still watch commercials and no I don't have TiVo)

there was this contest to win a trip to some remote island in the tropics for you, your spouse, and 18 of your closest friends. I never win anything but it's fun to imagine that I won so I started thinking about who I would take. Of course I would first invite my parents and siblings and spouses which equals 11. That's without any kids. I thought then that I might want to take Emma but then it might be fun to go without her for a change even though I would terribly miss her. Then I wondered if I could take all the grand kids so I added it up and got 21 total. That wouldn't work! (Kinda fun seeing that there are now 10 grand kids in the fam!) So the kids are out and I didn't think it would be very fair to take Emma when all the other kids weren't coming and it wouldn't be fair to only take some of the grand kids and leave others behind so NO KIDS!!! Then that leaves a vacancy of 7 spaces! Who would I take? I was thinking that I could take my cousin Angela and her husband because I never get to see them and that was so fun to see them at Thanksgiving so there's now 5 spaces left. I would take Scott and Steph because she's my closest friend and it would be great to have them there, plus I think Karl and Scott would get along so great. So now there's only 3 spaces. Then I realize that I have completely left off Brent's family and

I feel like the biggest jerk in the world!!! Back to just the family again I guess. Sorry Angela and Brooks and Scott and Steph, family's first right?!? The thing is though, here's where it gets tricky again. You have Brent's only sibling Rich and his wife, and then his mom and step dad which makes our total again left with three but they will all be avoiding one another because of family squabbles and speaking of family squabbles, to be fair we would need to invite Brent's real dad but he probably won't come because he's in poor health, still, the invitation might be used but there again Rich and he don't get along so there would be avoidance once more. So now we are down to two. OK! So here's another problem...before I said no grand kids but Chris who is Brent's niece is grown and going to college so it wouldn't be like she would be anyone's hassle or in the way and she has a steady boyfriend so she could bring him which would make our total of 18 but I said no kids so does she really count? If so that makes us left with two open slots! One last problem...Lets say for imaginary purposes that my sister who is sorta kinda dating someone (that parts not imaginary) gets just a little more friendly with the person she is sorta kinda dating...Do I invite him as well and kick someone to the curb like Chris our niece and her

BF or does Anita go stag? If I kick Chris to the curb and Anita brings her hopeful then I have one more slot open so do I just give in and take Emma or WHAT because if all the family is going with me I really don't know who I would leave Emma with? Then the question gets asked again is it fair to bring my kid along but if I won the trip and they all got to go for free....they can't complain RIGHT? Oh the life of the imagination. What am I going to do!

That totally made me laugh! I love that you thought that whole thing through! You should just save yourself the hassle and not enter the contest. :-) It's just way too stressful!
You should win just for all your effort.
Oh, and you should bring me because...well, just because you should!! Although that would complicate things because then you might have to invite more random people!
U R Funny! You make me laugh- I miss you.
