Gun Power & Lead? Oh YA!

I haven't been shooting FOREVER. This was the first real day in Vegas. Curtis took Brent, Trevor and I out into the desert to shoot his new rifle. It's an AR something. Sorry brother, can't remember the name. I thought I got some great shots of the guys and I thought they got some goofy shots of me. Alas desert wind in the hair! So we had out there two AR rifles, Trevor's old shotgun and a .22 that Curtis had borrowed. I was totally intimidated to use the AR and stood there for a few good seconds with it butted into my shoulder because I was afraid about the kick back. Both Curtis and Trevor said it was nothing like the shotgun but they both are men and stronger than me. Finally I squeezed the trigger and giggled! That is one seriously sweet weapon. I see now why Curtis is so in love with it! Trevor had his brother in law's. That one was just a little different than Curtis'. Curtis has a better scope and it makes it fun to target things 30 yards out but after shooting with both of them I found the scope on either was just fine. (Especially after Trevor showed me how to work it!) It's always fun when you hit your target and it's really fun when the target you hit is filled with water and goes spraying up in the air! I gotta brag and say that I was pretty darn good for a girl who hasn't been for about 4 some odd years! I would go out and shoot that AR Rifle any time again. It was so smooth but felt like it had some serious power behind it. Thanks Curtis and Trevor for buying ammo and driving us out into the desert to have a great morning. I had a blast!!!!
T. with the .22! It's seriously like shooting a B.B. gun.

Curtis and his new toy!!!

All the boys standing like crazed maniacs!!! Yes Brent is a lefty!

That shot gun was great until my shoulder started aching!!!

This picture of Trevor needs no explanation. I will let you guess what I am thinking!!!

One of Brent's rare smiles!!! It seems a little ironic that he has a weapon in his hand with such a great smile but you take what you can get!!!

Gotta love the windy hair!

P.S. I had one more thought. In all of these pictures the sky and mountains are just beautiful. It really was a perfect sunny morning and some may not like the desert look but it's what I grew up with and I loved seeing the beauty there that day. I'm glad my pictures came out that way to reflect what I saw!
