Always the question, "Where did summer go?" 
It has flown by this year. We didn't even hit the beach that often. I decided that we needed one more hurrah before school started so yesterday Emma and I met some friends from down in the valley at Mission Beach. It was beautiful. The water was 
still cold but the weather so so so incredible. Warm and sunny with nary a cloud. When we first got there Emma and I just sat lapping up the sound of the waves, the cry of the seagulls, and that wonderful salty air. Oh it was just what the doctor ordered! Our friends didn't show up for awhile and so we spent that time goofing off with one another and the camera. Some of these turned out really cute. I'm really gonna miss hanging out with my favorite girl. We've really been buds this summer and I can't believe school is already here again. Last night as we 
were getting ready for bed Emma said that she was really going to miss me when she was at school and that she didn't want to go. Last year I couldn't wait for her to go off and get out of my hair and make some new friends. This year it seems so much harder to say goodbye. Funny because it's six hours a day and they are home before you know it but really this year it was so much harder. Last night I read Emma this book called The Kissing Hand. Big mistake! I totally ended up crying all the way through it. After I drew a heart on her left hand and kissed it. Then we went in to say prayers 
and ended up talking about all the fun things we did all summer long. I couldn't believe the list we compiled. What a great three months! Hope the next nine are somewhat equal!!!
