I'm not by any means saying that I love it when
Brent has to work out of town seminars or the annual work symposium. I am saying however, that I love the
benefits that come from it. At the beginning of August we took off to Anaheim and played for a week, that is Emma and I played for the week. The start of our stay was at the Grand Californian Hotel and Spa. I think it's the biggest hotel we've ever stayed at and quite possibly the best, starting with the beds! Emma was thrilled with having a big huge bed all to herself! We spent a good chunk of time laying in bed watching TV. I know, I know we were at this great hotel in a great town and we laid in bed watching TV? I promise we weren't in bed the whole time but it was nice to have four different Disney channels to choose from and a Disney princess telling you a bed time story every
night via the TV. I couldn't help getting a picture of Emma in pure joy, in bed, both asleep and awake! Yes that is Silver Mist from the Disney Fairies she's holding. She likes her the best because her character is played by the real Lucy Liu and Emma saw her one time in a movie do some cool Karate moves. She's now Emma's hero. BACK TO THE POST AT HAND.....Another really cool part about the hotel was the awesome swimming pools. I loved that I could sit right in front of the slide and watch Emma going down it without first having to get up and go
with her to the slide and second not having to get into the pool with her. The pool was on the cool side most of the time. I did get in a bunch but it was nice to lay in the sun and soak up some rays. There's another thing that I didn't take pictures of that was pool side. The pool chairs were padded. Yup you read correct. Padded pool lounge chairs. Heaven! I'm not talkin about a thin little padding that you tie down that you can buy at Wally world, I'm talking full on three inch upholstered lounging chairs that reclined all the way back like normal pool chairs. I'll admit....I had a little nap on one while I let the life guard watch my kid. It was only for a minute that I realized I'd drifted
off. Emma's a good kid. Oh the pool chairs will be missed! Emma was making me laugh the last day we were there. We really hadn't had that much time at the pool so the last day I promised her we would spend all morning there. We had watched lots of Phineas and Ferb and lots of Hanna Montana and the Suite Life on Deck (all Disney show's) on our four different Disney channels while in the hotel and she had them all rolling around in her brain so every time she would go down the slide I would hear from a distance, "Mom, Phineas and Ferb are making a title sequence!"
It's part of the opening song to that show. I have to give her a huge awesome kudos for that morning. I wasn't feeling at all well and we couldn't go back up to our room because we had to check out and Brent still had to work until 5 that night so we stayed at the pool from 10:30-2:30 that day. She played the whole time without complaint. We only left because her eyes were starting to sting and because I didn't think I could take any more of just sitting there feeling icky. I have a great kid! This was just one part of our sweet week because of Nth Generation. More to come! Oh ya did I mention we stayed at this hotel because Nth picked up the Tab? SWEET!
