Nth REALLY Picks up the Tab!

You know how I said earlier in recent posts that the place Brent works for paid for our hotel room? Well they also paid for us to be in Disneyland all together as a family one night. Not only that but they gave us food vouchers that paid for dinner in the park too! These pictures are from our night at Disneyland (obviously). Do you like Emma's hat? So cute. She wanted to be just like her cousin Caitlyn who has a blue one just like that, minus the skulls but Emma loved that hat so I got it for her! I know I'm a push over! Imagine that? Well we found out that you really can do quite a bit during the hours of 4-midnight at Disneyland if you skip the fireworks show. I wasn't too keen on not seeing it because I love it so much. It's moving, for me anyway, so much so that it brings me to tears almost every time. I know I'm a wuss! I had a hard time talking Emma into skipping it too but she soon saw that the park almost empties during this time and that you can almost walk onto rides because so many people stop to watch. We were standing in line for the Matterhorn (one of my most favorites because it scares the begeesish out of me every time) when the fireworks started and then got on the ride in the middle of the show. Gotta say....I kinda forgot how incredibly scary that ride is at night and then with big booms and bright flashes added in, it only makes it THAT MORE SCARY!!! I know....again...wuss! One of the things we did that I think Brent and I appreciated a tiny bit more than Emma, and I say tiny because it was pretty lame, was seeing Captain EO. I guess because Michael Jackson died, Disney brought Captain EO back for awhile. They should have left it in the archives!!!! No I think it was slightly entertaining and it got us off our feet for a spell. It made for a cute picture with Emma and her 3D glasses anyway! At one point we ended up kinda stuck in Fantasyland (that was the closest bathroom) and I noticed the line for Dumbo wasn't that long. It's been forever since I rode Dumbo so I suggested we get in line. Emma right away said she wanted to go alone. No prob I thought. YA WELL HA...when the lady came around to give us our feather to fly Emma spoke right up and said that she was flying alone. The lady took one look at Brent and I and said, "So then you guys are going together!" That's right...not a question! Do you know how small that elephant is? No complaining here though, I got to cuddle with my main SQUEEZE! I looked back at Emma to get a picture and she was having such a blast that it was totally worth the comfy fit. If you know me at all then you know the food is typically worth mentioning, either for good or bad. Luckily this time our food was great. In past times at the park our dinner choices haven't been the best but as we were on our way to Pirates of the Caribbean Emma and I got a whiff of something delightful. We never did get that whiff again when we got off the ride but we did find in New Orleans Square this hot sandwich place. I had a French dip and Emma had a pulled pork. Both were incredibly delightful. Along with the sandwiches, you could pick out a cold salad so I got a lentil ensemble. As a kid I was never terribly into lentils but I decided to give it a second and I was so glad I did. DELISH! I'll have to remember that place next time we go. Oh there were other things worth mentioning like the fact that Emma and I spent about an hour and a half together in the park before Brent got off work. In my mind it was the best hour and a half of the whole trip. I'm not trying to discredit the time we spent as a family because that was fantastic but the time alone with Em was truly wonderful. She gets in these rare moods where everything she says is funny and "smart" and you laugh at everything that comes out of her mouth. Hum maybe it's not necessarily her moods so much as mine. I'll have to give that one a thought! Another thing worth mentioning was my sweet man staying up till all hours of the night when he had to be to work early the next morning. Such a good man! Last and certainly least in my mind was the general mood and atmosphere you feel while in Disneyland. How is it that the people of Disney can create these feelings inside me? How is it that while you are there you feel such a sense of hope and faith. I kept thinking the whole time that all you need is a little faith, that is, "faith, trust, and pixie dust"! It's a place where imagination runs wild, dreams become reality, and fantasy lives! Thank you Nth for giving my family the opportunity to believe!
