Time to Discover!

While in Anaheim, we would have loved to play at Disneyland every day but that wasn't going to happen so the first real day we were there Emma and I took off to see the Cube. The Cube is Anaheims Discovery Museum that is linked with other similiar museums all across the country. After having been in a few (Las Vegas, Dallas, San Diego and now Anaheim) I decided they were all starting to look the same. It was crowded, hot, noisy, sometimes smelly, and a few of the employee's were just downright rude. ON THE FLIP SIDE Emma had a blast! She got to do science experiments without anyone telling her how to do it, she got to play with messy stuff, she got to lay on a bed of nails for goodness sake. As for the rude employee's there were nice people there too. There were these two girls (not pictured) who were showing a science project with bubbles. They took their time and really taught Emma why bubbles always come out round. She loved it. She really had a great time. I look back on this day and now realize I should have pulled my head out and smiled a little more. It's not that I had a terrible time but I could have had a better time if I would have tried. Lesson learned. There was one time though that I did have a fun time playing around with Emma. We were inside the Cube itself and there was a space exhibit there where you could get a feel for the smoke around a space shuttle taking off and launch space shuttles yourself. It was pretty fun and both of us got a kick out of being there. After we left I got totally turned around trying to get to Target and ended up in an unsavory part of town. The GPS kept telling me to turn on roads that didn't exist or to turn on to a railroad. I was getting really really nervous (being hungry didn't help). Finally I set the GPS back to the hotel and finally we found our way to a nicer part of town and to Target. Well here's some pics of our time at the Cube.

Emma playing goalie. She stopped 4 out of 5 pucks!

DJ Emma Love!

This is a set of three walls all formed in a triangle with mirrors on the inside. Pretty fun!

Me in the space shuttle exhaust! Good picture EM!

Emma in the wind tunnel. The wind got up to 90 miles/ hour. So cute!

Hehe hehe...Emma's in a giant nose! Hehe hehe

Emma loved this exhibit. She thought the bones were creepy how they turned when she turned the door handle but then after she did it a bunch she thought it was way cool.

We love Operation the game at our house and so Emma got a "huge" kick out of this one!

The only reason I put this picture in was because last October we went to a pumpkin patch with a rock wall and Emma tried it and got so scared. When she saw this I thought she was going to go around it but she went right up to it and started to climb. I thought it was worthy of posting a mile stone! Plus look at those long legs my kid has. When did that happen?

This was the bed of nails. She said that it did prick a little bit but mostly it tickled. It was on a elevator type system where the nails come up from underneath and Emma really wanted me to lay down on it. Ya, I didn't lay on it. I was too afraid that the whole thing would groan while trying to lift me up!
