Ode to Joy or Ode to Frustration?

At the beginning of the summer, Emma started piano lessons. It's been an off and on fun thing for her so far with struggles and frustration but also with fun songs and laughter. I really believe she has music in her soul and I believe that piano has helped her tap into it. It makes me really happy to see that she is working to know how to play the piano. I just have to remind myself not to harp on her for mistakes because she already gets after herself enough for the both of us when she does make one. I hear a intake of breath and then she starts all over. It's good to see her work for it! (Now if she would only stop goofing off in her lessons - Sorry Jessica were working on that) This is her first real piece that has notes on an actual staff with no finger positions or letters to help her out. She wrote some of them out on the left side of the song and then on the right side I would only let her write one note with finger position per measure and she had to figure out which all the rest were by using her brain! I know, I'm such a meanie! She totally did it though and even though she is still having a hard time with this song (it's only the second day after being assigned it) she played it all the way through this one time and we got it on video. I'm so proud of her. I think she's doing such a good job!
P.S. Remember this is a BASIC version of Beethoven's Ode to Joy.
