Hanging Laundry
I remember as a little girl hel
ping my Grandma Abbott bring clothes in from the line. She had a way about her that made everything look so simple and easy and efficient. My mom said that she would fold her clothes and sheets as she was taking them off the line and that it was incerdible to watch how talented she was at just taking the laundry down. She never did own a dryer. When I got "old enough" to do my own laundry I quickly learned that the dryer was great but as I have grown up a little more I have realized the dryer is an energy waster. I try with every load to put stuff out on the line. There are a few tricks to the trade but there is nothing like knowing you are helping the environment and helping your family save money. Does it take extra time? Well DUH of course it does but since moving here I have learned that recycling and saving water and saving energy is really not as hard a
s people make it out to be. It is a mind set really. You make the decision to do it and you do it! Thanks Grandma for teaching me early on through your actions. Hopefully, through mine I can do the same.
