U.S.S. Midway

For as long as we have lived in SD I have wanted to visit the Midway. Thanks to my good friend Jennifer Petruzzelli we got to go for free! She gave us four passes so we took Trevor and Marilene and Craig and played most of the day on the Midway! Being there with T. was such a great treat. He is really interested in planes and all thing having to do with planes and so he knows really quite a bit. As we walked around I felt like I had my own tour guide. I could ask him anything and for the most part he would know what he was talking about. It was really hard to limit these pictures down to only a few but I think this about covers it!

The Brent Hedden family with our stylish headsets on that not one of us listened to except for Emma!

The Trevor Ross Family standing just off the flight deck (which thanks to T. I learned so much about and actually found quite interesting) looking so cute!

Trevor the goof! He's always good for a laugh!
Really he is always good for a laugh!

Emma is sitting in the wheel well of this Jet. First of all just the size alone is amazing and second of all I think it is so cool (I know that planes have done this for a long time now BUT) that the wheel has it's own "little" compartment!

I loved this Chopper. I thought it was one of the cooler things aboard! Emma really wanted to go in and was upset with me that I was making her take yet another picture.

Craig always makes me smile. He almost always has a smile on his face and he has the cutest laugh around. He was such a great little guy all day for his Mommy and Daddy (well in my opinion he was. I don't know how his parents felt)

With Emma's head set and the way this picture was taken it makes you almost believe that she is actually there working on the sonar. I thought this was so cute. She was in to all of this stuff. Anything she could sit in or play on, she was there. She even took the head set and would type in all the numbers to listen to whatever explanation was given. Once when we were resting and having a snack she blurts out, "Mom where's number 8. We have to see the Brig!" I knew then that she was really listening to her head set and not just playing around with it. I plugged mine in and typed in # 8 and sure enough it was all about the Brig! Maybe I should have turned mine on and payed more attention.

This last picture makes me a little sick to my stomach! I look at all those dials and knobs and I think I would be worried about sinking the ship. Can we say HUH?

I always love going to see things in my community. It's the best with kids because everything is a new experience. I want to go to the train in Boulder City when I get a chance. Anyway, looks like fun. I can't believe you have to pay for this experience, it must be for the maintenance on the jet or something.
