Last night after eating dinner (delicious French Onion Soup) I had an allergy attack. I caught it before it could become too bad luckily but it boggled my mind as to what spurred it. I know I am allergic to a variety of things and have a variety of responses such as my throat tickles when I eat avocados or cantelope , my skin develops a rash with different soaps and detergents or my throat closes up with pumpkin seeds, headaches with some perfumes and hives with strawberries and sometimes cherries, just to name a few. The reason I'm boggled was because I have had French Onion Soup a number of times and never had a problem. The only thing I did different last night was add a tbsp of dry thyme. (I saw the tip from Paula Deen the other day and wanted to see what it tasted like) I'm sitting in the chair when all the sudden my legs start to itch. I didn't really think anything about it until they wouldn't stop itching. By the time I realized, the hives had spread to all around my body and I had red spots from head to toe! Into the shower and then to swallow my good ole friend Benadryl! I sat pondering whether it was the thyme or if I have developed a new allergy to something common that I could typically eat. While I could test my theories and break everything down that I ate and eat it all individually to see what makes me break out, I think I'll just be mindful about the thyme and all the other ingredients and keep the Benadryl on hand. It is irritating to have this happen. The last one I found out about was cantelope. I love cantelope and I am just praying that I am not allergic to other melons such as honeydew. As I finish this post up I am itchy just thinking about last night. Luckily in a matter of an hour or so the hives cleared up and were gone. Have any of my fellow friends out there ever had a problem with thyme? Let me know.

Could it have been thyme?
