Emma and her crazy jeans

Emma for Christmas last year got a book from her Aunt Alisa and Uncle Rich on how to style up your jeans. Being the good mom, I forgot all about it and did nothing with it. Then for her birthday her cousin Chris sent her a bunch of stuff to help us along like patches and paint and things like that. What I didn't realize was that the patches are iron on but to get them to stay on you have to sew them up a little (or a lot depending on the patch) which typically wouldn't be a problem but it is all by hand because you can't get it around a machine to sew it. These pants are really cute once they get done but getting them done involves a lot of work. Today I have plans to cut out a heart and put a piece of cute material behind it and fray the edges but I want to glue it in first which will take about a day to completely dry and then it can't be washed for a week so the glue can completely set. One of the hard things about this is letting Emma do it. I want it to be nice and look good so she can wear them to school because I am not going to waste materials for her to just play with but on the other hand I want her to feel of course like she had something to do with this too. After all it was her Christmas and Birthday presents. Luckily for me Emma is into all this stuff and she wants to help. It's not just me forcing her into helping me and then forcing her to wear this stuff. She came up with this idea to put rainbow's on the back over some of the patches. It came out so cute and now she can be proud of her own work. That being said, I'm proud of her and that helps me to want to do these things for her.
