Steph and Geoff - Old Town
One of my favorite places (I know you are saying ri
ght about now, "How many favorite places does this woman have?" WELL I HAVE A BUNCH. I LOVE SAN DIEGO! GET OVER IT!!!) to visit is Old Town. So after we went to Hodad's we headed around the bend to Old Town and to the Mormon Battalion. Unfortunately for us the Battalion is under construction. Oh well another time. In Old Town however we were not disappointed. We went down this little walk way and found a cute shop. Steph bought the kids these cloth wrapped wire kids on bicycles. They are so cute. From then on people would stare and ask where we had gotten them. One lady even had the guts to say she would charge double what we had paid. The kids were so cute with them too. They wheeled them around like they were walking a dog. At one point we stopped to watch this guy play music with some kind of a hollow stick. It was pretty music. I think the kids thought they were playing a concert specifically just for them. They were so cute sitting thereWe went into this one shop and looked around for a little bit and when we came out there was a painting of this very large woman who appeared to be naked. For some reason it drew me in. I kinda stood there laughing and feeling like an idiot for looking. It was kind of a silly painting but I was a little embarrassed to be caught looking at it. Anyway while we were at this guys little sidewalk stand Steph starting looking at these frogs. They are wooden and they have a stick in their mouths. you pull out the sticks and rub them across their back and they sound like a frog croaking. Well we stood there for a while looking at them and then Steph decided that she wanted to have one for her third g
rade class this year. So then we stood there for awhile longer trying to decide which had the better sound. It was great. We stood there laughing at each other and at the frogs. The little guy must have thought we were n complete nut jobs! Oh well. I love street side merchants. They are so much fun.
