The First Day of Freedom, Oh I mean School! -with pics

I love the first day of school. I used to hate the first day of school when I was actually going to school but as an adult I have realized that I love this day more than even a few of the smaller holidays. Silly but true. This morning "we" woke with anticipation and nerves, yes both of us. So much so that I almost forgot to (make) send her with her lunch. Off to school we went almost 30 minutes early. The teacher welcomed the parents in, told us to fill out this packet at home and told us to say good bye! NO PROB BOB! Have a good day honey see ya soon! Oh I love the school year. I went back in my hard drive and found last years first day of school pictures so that everyone could compare. HEHE So exciting. The pictures on the top are last years and the pictures on the bottom are of course this year. She was way more excited this year. We talked it up all summer long about how a big first grader acts and behaves. It's kinda silly but my friend Jennifer and I were so excited for school to start that after we dropped the kids off at school we took off and went to breakfast at this place called Honey's that she know's. It was so incredibly wonderful. I had a stuffed Croissant with ham, eggs, mushrooms and asparagus. This is obviously me with her little girl. She's such a poser! What a way to start off the school year! Thanks JEN!!!

I'm so glad that someone else loves the first day of school as much as I do! I can't wait to see Emma's pics and how much she changed over the year. I usually only notice changes when they are side by side.

I'm so glad that you enjoyed the first day of school so much. Mine was nerveracking. However, I was in a bit of a different situation. I was the new 1st year teacher, with no real teaching experience, standing up in front of a room full of 2nd and 3rd graders! My day was a little stressful! Pretty comical looking back on it though! The first day of school next year will be better. By the way, Emma looks so cute!

Isn't the first day great! I was kind of sad - for the first time - to see my little guy off for the whole day. But I made it through (he was fine of course) and now we're both lovin it!
