Hooray For Grandpa and Grandma!

My parents came not this past weekend but the one before and we had so much fun. Mom and Dad are really so very easy going. Anything flies with them. Do you want to go here? Sure why not! I love it. This time it was no different. They came, they saw, they got the T-shirt! Ok not really the T-shirt but they got the wood! Hehe! If you know my dad at all you know that he will smell out any and all woodworking places in a 50 mile radius! Am I kidding? NO WHY WOULD I BE KIDDING! In all fairness however, he is really a pretty good wood turner and has a great gift! On Friday I had the privilege of joining my parents in the temple. It was wonderful. How could you ask for a better time than one spent in the service of the Lord with your parents! I got to first go through a session with them and then show them around the 4th floor. If you have never been to the fourth floor of the San Diego temple, GO! It's fabulous. After we finished with the temple we headed North and got stuck in traffic on the 5 (of course)! He had read about an exotic wood store and in Carlsbad and wanted to check it out. I gotta say it was pretty cool! The next day we played at Balboa Park. We went to the Train Museum and then the Auto Museum and of course road the tram. I love how incredibly beautiful that park is! After that we went up to Cabrillo National Monument. It is one of my most favorite places here because of it's beauty and I wanted to share that with Mom and Dad. We drove through Fort Rosecranss National Cemetery as well and then headed down to good old Pat and Oscars for dinner. It's not the best place but we were whooped and couldn't think of a better place. I know I know there are so many better out there. Oh well at least they have killer bread sticks! Mom and Dad got to stay for all of Sunday and so we took off and went for a Sunday drive before church. We drove over to Lake Murray. We had never been there before and found it to be pretty nice. We made plans right then to go the following weekend (look for a post to come). Then we attended church where my parents got initiated into my ward! Anyone who knows my ward understands this statement and understands why I won't elaborate! We had a quiet evening then and the following morning they had to go back to Las Vegas. Sad to see them go. Happy to see them go. Missed them the moment they were gone! I love you Mom and Dad.
