Happy Birthday Emma - June 2nd!
Emma's had two birthday celebrations this year. This wa
s the first year that no one came from out of town to be here for her birthday. I didn't know if she would pick up
on it but sure enough she did. She was feeling pretty down when she realized this and so I gav
e in a little and let her have a special time with one of her closest friends Elizabeth. Emma wanted to go to the Chinese Buffet and then go bowling. We picked up Elizabeth and headed off for our day of fun. We have never rea
lly taken any of Emma's friends out to eat before. It was interesting to see how they wo
uld react in different situati
ons. Actually Elizabeth kept cracking me up. She's really pretty funny once you get to know her. Then off to bowl. When we got to the bowling alley they were having a league championship or something like that and so we ended up going all the way out to Mira Mesa to Bowl. It was a nice place though so no biggie! Elizabeth had never been before. Both of the girls had a blast. They were so stinkin cute! Some of these pictures are a little blury because it's pretty hard to get good pics in a bowling alley but I chose them because you can still see the smiles and good times. Especially the one of Emma where she got a spare!
At the very end Elizabeth threw a strike! On the picture is shows that it is early on in the game but it was our second game and we were just about to leave. The picture shows E. E. C. B. It was Emma, Elizabeth, Cyndi, Brent just to let you know the order! I think Emma is still a little jealous that Elizabeth got a strike her first time and Emma has never had one. There is just one more thing about this day that I want written in the blog because it is so cute and so funny that I don't ever want to forget it. As we were taking off our shoes Elizabeth says very randomly, "I want to keep these shoes forever. They are the most comfortable shoes I've ever had!" Oh how I love that girl!

Happy "late" Birthday Emma!! I just did the same thing with Mason and a friend Saturday night. It's fun watching kids bowl and get excited.
