Mom and Dad's visit in May

My Grandparents have a time share. They generously for what ever reason let my parents use it this past May and my parents invited the girls (my sister and I and my family) to have a weekend with them. My dad called and told me originally we would be up by Oceanside. Ok no prob, it would be just like a mini vacation. We really ended up being minutes from our house in Mission Valley. Funny how things work out but no prob we still had a blast and it did feel like we were on vacation only that we knew all the streets! Here are some of the pics.

I knew Anita had already been to see this monument with us but I really thought my parents would like the view from Mt. Soledad. Here's my dad. He always finds a comfy spot to sit and take in the scenery. We had a great chat while he was in this spot. We talked about patiotism and the armed service men and women. Being there of course makes you reflect on that kind of stuff.

I love this picture of Emma and Brent. I don't know why I like it so much but something about it strikes me. I guess it kinda goes back to that song about breaking up on a Sunday in a park where if you have to have bad news then do it somewhere where good feelings can be and maybe it won't be so hard to hear the news. I guess this picture is a glimps into the future. I would hope that if Brent ever had to tell Emma some really bad news or if he had to talk to her about something really serious, he would tell her on a bench looking out into the beautiful blue ocean where they were all alone and the news maybe would be easier to take because they were looking at one of Heavenly Fathers creations. OKOKOK enough of the serious stuff. I"M NOT DYING!

How cute is my Momma with my little family!

After the Memorial we went to Balboa Park. Of course I totally didn't even think about it being Cinco de Mayo and it being packed. It was totally fun though. We walked all around and enjoyed the events and festivities and even got a few fresh corn tortilla's with butter mmmmmm. This pic is inside of the Temecula Olive Oil Company store. They had free olive oil and balsamic vinegar tastings. I was a little scheptical at first but after doing a few it was pretty cool. The shop was really neat. I will have to remember it for future gift giving idea's and of course who couldn't help but snap a picture of these very cute girls.

This pic was in the time share. It was a pretty cool place. Kinda like a long term hotel. Brent was playing the New Super Mario Brothers game of T.'s that Anita had brought along (which now he is totally addicted to) while Emma sorta watched on. I just thought it was a cute pic of them on the bed together.

This is some random turtle that was in the ponds outside of the Botanical gardens we went to the next day. He was tiny tiny and so adorable. It really made me wonder if someone let him go because these are the kind of turtles we have and he is not native to this part of the country. Still kinda fun to see him sun bathing.

The next day we had scheduled to go to the International cottages again in Balboa Park. They weren't open yet though so we went to the Botanical Garden. It's free and that's a good thing. I love this picture of Emma. So sweet. Actualy I was thinking while going through pictures how cut this really is with the flower in her hair and the flower patch on her pants! If you never have been to the Botanical gardens in the park, go! It's a great little walk through some very very pretty flowers. They even have a few you can touch.

This picture of Emma makes me smile. You can see she is on the verge of cracking up. I just had to include it. I love it.

This is in front of one of the International cottages. China for some reason has always been Emma's favorite place to visit. Don't ask, I don't have an explination. This one was cool though because they had a lady in there who would write your name in Chinese for a small amount. That was another thing about the cottages, in every one you went into there would be some sort of little snack from the country. They all had "donation" jars. You could spend like 40 bucks on "donations" only. It was really pretty neat though to see all the different cottages and see the different cultures. We really are just a patch work quilt in this big world.

One of the cottages that made quite the impression on all of us was the river dance from Ireland. Check out this video. One of the things that gets me is the lady in the pink. She has such great legs right? Just wait until you see her face. It's totally not what you think. She is not some young vixen doing this dance. She's a grandma! I loved it!

All in all the mini vacation was great. Just what we needed. I can't wait until Mom and Dad can come again. I'm already planning site seeing trips for next time!
