Daddy plays Santa

Being on the Activities Committee means you do things you may have never done before OR it means that your husband does things he may have never done before like for instance playing Santa Claus because his wife talked him into it! It's true, Brent played Santa for the first time at our Ward Christmas party. He was so cute. He was pretty nervous that he was going to mess up this big role and I can totally see why he was so nervous. Kids depend on Santa to be real! He even got on You Tube to see if there was any info out there on playing jolly ole St. Nick!. I thought he did such a great job even if the costume was a bit to small, he didn't have round spectacles, he was stuck wearing black gloves and his feet were to big for the "boots" or rather boot covers. During the picture with the three of us on his lap Darlene Dunn kept singing I saw Mommy kissing Santa Clause. It was great. Emma walked into get her picture taken, took one look at him, looked at me and came running over. She knew it was him. I guess a girl always knows her daddy! We really had been trying to keep it a secret and we had been calling Brent the man of the month when ever we referred to it but she figured it out anyway. A few days after it was all over he asked me how he did and it wasn't until then that I realized just how nervous he had been about it. He was a life saver because of course we couldn't get the real one to come to our party. You know something that struck me as pretty funny was that Santa is supposed to be a bit chubby you could say and though Brent isn't a tiny guy he isn't really that "chubby" but that suit barely fit him. Oh well I guess it's one of life's little mysteries! Thanks Brent for doing that for the Activities Committee. We really appreciated it. One more little side note...Brent is not done doing things for the Committee because I just got called to be Chairman! Love ya babe!
