Desert Lights and Mr. Potter

November 26, 2010
This is the last post from when we were in Las Vegas with my parents. It's always bitter sweet when it's time to leave home and come back to "our" home. Does that make sense to anyone but me? It's always nice to get back to the place you hang your hat, the place you lie your head, the place your love gets built upon day after day but leaving the place where your love originated and laid it's corner stone is always a little hard. There's safety and comfort in that old place and almost a sense that there's no responsibility because Mom and Dad will always be there to take over if needed. Some day they won't be and I refuse to talk about that day because that's the day I really have to become an adult.

OK WELL ON A LIGHTER NOTE...(sorry got a little sentimental there) This was one of the last full days that we were at Mom and Dads. It's kinda been tradition to see the lights on the desert landscape at Ethel M's Chocolate factory right after Christmas and I always have such a great time when we go so we bundled up and headed out. We froze! That's all there is to it! We FROZE! Needless to say we didn't stay long. It was just too cold but the lights were beautiful and I'm always amazed that they can make cacti look like Christmas! Take a look...tall me what you think?

After or before I can't remember which, we gave Grandpa his Birthday present. I didn't bother with wrapping paper. I found a dark blue pillow case and shoved everything in there! Sorry Daddy. I think he really liked the turning tool we gave him. Sorta made up for missing the last several birthdays.

This last picture is in tribute to my sisters cat. Oh Mr. Potter you really are a stinker. Every time I looked down there he was letting it all hang out! At least you are entertaining!Last is just a thank you to my parents. Thank you for everything! This trip was so great. I can't wait to see you for Christmas! I love you both!
