Catchy title? I loved it and laughed at myself because I'm a bit of a dork! I'll admit it! Emma advanced to a Green Belt in Tae Kwon Do this past Saturday. Were so proud of her. She's really started to show some major maturity this last few months because a huge decision has come up. She had to decide if she was quitting or not. She told us that because it was getting harder she wasn't sure if she wanted to keep doing it. She said she wasn't enjoying it like she used to and that maybe it was time for something else. We talked A LOT about this. We gave her options on different sports and told her all about them. We talked about staying in this and sticking it out "because" it was getting harder. We talked about just taking a break from it and maybe starting it up during the summer. The decision was ultimately hers and we gave her a time period to make a decision in. She went back and forth and back and forth really trying to make a good decision. On Saturday morning she decided that this is what she really does want to do and decided to keep on trying.
When we got to the building her Sabumnim was standing outside talking to a few parents. He told us that he'd been kicked out of the building because something had been scheduled on top of his class accidentally and he graciously left as to allow Santa to do his thing. So we had the advancement ceremony outside in the cloudy/nearly rainy parking lot. Emma was still so excited to receive her new belt. It's always such a big deal when you advance a whole belt color instead of just the in between ranks. Way to go M. Keep up the great work! (p.s. Black Slugbug!)

Congrats to Emma! That is a big accomplishment and it is exciting to see her making hard choices and doing hard things! Love your title BTW.
